4-24-16 – LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway was the site of the FrostBuster, a 25 lap celebration of the opening of the race season at that track. Ty set some fast lap times during practice. That transferred to a successful showing during race time. Qualifying at the back of the pack, Ty’s second lap was a rocket speed 19.462, shattering the two year record. Ty joined the 6 fastest qualifiers in the 6 for 6 fast dash. He started in 6th position and made his way up to the lead spot with one lap to go, passing most cars on the outside. He brought home the checkered flag. After the invert, Ty began the 25 lap feature in the 9th position. “I was fortunate that my lane went. I was able to work my way through and pass for the lead with 18 to go and set sail. We tried some set up changes that we were successful with in my Super Late cars and the LaCrosse Late model really responded. It’s pretty special to have the track record and accomplish my first clean sweep.” Ty won the feature in true Majeski fashion, meticulously overtaking each car one by one, mostly on the outside. “This is a win my whole team can be proud of.” A special thanks goes out to Johnny Gilbertson, owner and sponsor of the #91 LaCrosse Late Model, Johnny’s Hobbies, Tomcat Engines, Frog Racing, Ted Mannstedt Steel, Machine, Lefthander Chassis, Dakota Supply Group, and the crew, Crew Chief Toby Nuttleman, and Chris Johnson.
