Saturday, July 2nd, Ty participated in the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series race at his “home track” (because of the location of the shop that houses his multiple cars.) La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway has seen Ty tear it up several times already this season, breaking the track record and winning both events he entered. Ty started out strong in this event as usual, running top times in practices. He qualified with fast time and broke the qualifying record for the TUNDRA Series. Ty started in the 11th spot in the 50 lap feature. He was up to 7th with 40 to go when a caution flag flew. Filled with determination, Ty worked his way smoothly up to 6th. Around halfway through the feature, an ignition wire broke on his Treeo’s Johnny’s hobbies, Wehr’s machine, Frog Racing Chevy, effectively ending his night.
Ty is looking foreword to racing at Lacrosse again on July 9 and then at Slinger Speedway on July 10.
We would like to thank car owner Johnny Gilbertson, crew chief Toby Nuttleman, team Chris and Craig Johnson and Spotter Brad Majeski.
Ty and the Entire team would like to extend a huge congratulations to crew member Chris and his wife Laura Mueller on the birth of their new baby girl Scarlett! It’s a nice name, sCARlett. She is destined to like Race Cars!
