September 15, 2016 Chicagoland Speedway was the site of Ty’s third start in The Roulo Brothers #17 Potawatomi sponsored Ford Fusion. Despite using a steel body to the rest of fields composite body style, Ty was a contender throughout the day.
His first laps in practice were learning the line around the race track. With the guidance of his spotter, Ty adapted quickly and shifted his sights to gaining speed. He ended practice with an overall time that was 6th quickest. He then backed up his time with a 6th place qualifying run. Starting outside 3rd row, Ty got shuffled back to 9th. On lap 2, a side window popped out of another car and hit the hood of the 17 car putting a deep scuff on the drivers side windshield. Despite the hood damage, Ty still had a good piece. During cautions, the pit crew did a great job of getting Ty back on the track, gaining positions on pit road. After three altercations with other cars, Ty, without a doubt, proved his driving skills by saving the car from wrecking three times. When the checkered flag dropped, Ty was in the 8th spot, a great finish for his third start in an ARCA car and his first start on a mile and half track
