On March 28 and 29, Ty took to the track to practice and acclimate himself in preparation for the beginning of his Xfinity season. Ty will be piloting the number 60 Roush Fenway, Ford Performance car at the historic Bristol Motor Speedway on April 14 for the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 race. “Practice went well.” Says Ty, “The track was way different from any other that I have been on. It only took a few laps and I felt like I could push it a little and turned some pretty good lap times.” Ty went on to say that he felt pretty confident in the set up that they had for the big event on April 14. “We started out pretty good but managed to find a little more speed as the practice sessions went on. I’m really looking forward to getting behind the wheel in the 60 car again. It’s been a slow start to the 2018 season and I’m itching to race!”
The race track is located in Bristol, Tennessee and boasts a reputation of having an aggressive, exciting race. “I’m a short track racer,” says Ty, “I grew up short track racing and it’s what I know. I’m looking forward to being competitive with some of the best and seasoned drivers out there. All this is new to me so a good finish would be really encouraging.”
