If bad luck comes in threes, Ty Majeski’s luck should change drastically in the upcoming events for him in the Xfinity series. “We just can’t catch a break” Says Ty, “We have good cars, or at least top 5-10 cars and we get ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.” At Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, Ty’s race was cut short by a tire issue after missing a wreck. He pitted to change the tire and was working his way through the pack when a wreck collected him, effectively ending his day. Moving on to Talladega, the team had a good piece. Ty was having a great run when his luck ran out again, getting tagged from behind by another car’s issue. A frustrated Ty and Team pulled themselves up, and moved on to the Dover race. Ty qualified well and found himself leading the race starting the second segment. His car lost 4th gear on the restart, was lifted by the car behind him and ended up breaking the rear axle. Just unbelievable luck so far. “I hate it for the guys at the shop, we all work really hard to get our cars right and it’s tough on all of us. We know we have competitive cars but we just haven’t been able to show that yet.” Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26th is Ty’s next race. “That’s going to be a tough race but we are already preparing for it” Reports Ty. “I’m really hoping our finish at Charlotte will reflect what we actually have going on with the team and the car.
Ty also raced the Icebreaker 100 at Dells Raceway Park on Sunday, May 22 in the 91 Super Late Model. Ty won in a dominant fashion and took home the big trophy and a nice check. When asked about the Icebreaker, Ty reported “It was a confidence booster for sure! I’ve always liked Dells Raceway Park so it was nice to bring home the win there. I’ll always remember where I came from and I’ll try and make it back to the local races whenever I can for sure.”
