South Alabama Speedway was the site of the 43rd running of the prestigious Rattler 250. After winning in 2016 and 2017, Majeski was eager to log another first place finish on his resume to be one of two in history to win this event three times. Ty had to miss the 2018 event due to scheduling conflicts.
The team found it difficult to get the car to respond to adjustments on Friday’s practice. They decided to forego putting new tires on and focus on getting the cars balance right. On Saturday they were able to reap the benefits of their hard work and run fastest and second fastest respectively in the two practices. With a 5th place qualifying run, Ty stated he was happy with the balance of the car and optimistic for the race on Sunday.
The green flag dropped at 2pm and Ty was able to lead a good portion of the first half of the race. After the second controlled caution, the team decided to lay back and save their equipment for the end, hoping for another yellow flag to fly. As the laps progressed, That yellow flag never came and the 91 team had to settle for a third place finish. Ty is looking forward to his next short track race! Stay tuned for further announcements regarding Ty’s plans for the rest of the season!
